Bill Clinton gives the middle class another great reason NOT to vote for his wife

**Written by Doug Powers

Just a couple months ago, Hillary Clinton was talking about the awesomeness of Obamacare and how she’s looking forward to making the law even more all-encompassing:

Hillary’s even reminded everybody that she thought of Obamacare first:

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton is out with a new defense of her healthcare record — rival Bernie Sanders may have helped write ObamaCare, but it was her idea first.

“It was called HillaryCare before it was called ObamaCare,” Clinton told a crowd of supporters at a country club in Vinton, Iowa. “I don’t want to start over.”

Fast forward the tape to yesterday, and Bill Clinton’s helpful reminder to small business owners and the middle class NOT to vote for his wife:

Speaking Monday at a Democratic rally in Flint, Michigan, the former president ripped into the Affordable Care Act for flooding the health care insurance market and causing premiums to rise for middle-class Americans who do not qualify for subsidies.

“So you’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden 25 million more people have health care and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. It’s the craziest thing in the world,” Clinton said.
“On the other hand, the current system works fine if you’re eligible for Medicaid, if you’re a lower-income working person; if you’re already on Medicare, or if you get enough subsidies on a modest income that you can afford your health care,” Clinton said. “But the people that are getting killed in this deal are small business people and individuals who make just a little too much to get any of these subsidies.”

This isn’t just about how the “Affordable” Care Act is a steaming pile, but it’s also an indictment of an ever-expanding welfare state by an ex-prez asking Americans to keep voting for the same people who have perpetuated it:

Thanks, Bill! That was helpful. Every now and then — about as often as Halley’s comet is visible from Earth — he’s accidentally forthright.
